What is light therapy or LED light?
Technical
Light therapy uses LED light to boost fibroblast activity, stimulating the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. The skin absorbs LED light at different wavelengths, and its effects depend on the color of the light. Each color targets a specific need and can be combined to optimize results.
Objective
Stimulate the skin's natural regeneration processes without damaging it, improve skin quality, treat imperfections and slow down skin aging by improving its elasticity.
Result
From the first session, the skin is brighter and soothed, with an immediate feeling of comfort. After a complete series of light therapy, between 3 and 8 sessions, redness, acne, spots and wrinkles are reduced after only three months of treatment. See the study here .
The desired effects improve over the months, so a complete treatment accompanied by a monthly maintenance session is recommended to obtain lasting and visible results.
Sustainability
The effects of LED light therapy in a salon can last up to 6 months. However, depending on the skin problem you're treating, maintenance sessions may be recommended to prevent the problem from recurring (acne, spots, pimples, etc.) and prolong the results.

What color for what effect?
- Red light: boosts collagen, therefore has a direct effect on wrinkles and lack of tone.
- Yellow/Orange Light: Treats redness, rosacea and inflammation.
- Blue light: treats acne, pimples and regulates excess sebum.
- Green light: treats pigment spots, acne scars and soothes the skin.
The benefits of light therapy on the skin
Firms skin and prevents wrinkles
Light therapy protects against oxidative stress and boosts collagen, thus combating sagging skin and delaying premature skin aging.
Reduces acne and blemishes
Thanks to its antibacterial action, light therapy eliminates bacteria responsible for acne and reduces pimples.
Reduces pigment spots
Light therapy evens out skin tone and visibly reduces post-acne marks, sun spots and melasma.
Soothes redness and rosacea
Light therapy reduces skin inflammation, especially for sensitive or reactive skin, and soothes redness and rosacea.
Soothes the skin and accelerates healing
Light therapy soothes the skin and accelerates recovery after dermatological treatments such as microneedling, laser or peeling.
Strengthens damaged skin barrier
LED light makes the skin more resistant to aggressions and helps restore the skin barrier damaged by aggressive care.
How does a light therapy session at SSSKIN take place?

01
Prior consultation
A professional will assess your skin to determine its issues and needs (acne, wrinkles, spots, redness, etc.) to tailor the session and choose the LED light color. A treatment plan will also be established to determine the number of sessions based on the expected results.

02
Skin preparation
The practitioner performs a deep cleansing to remove impurities, excess sebum and all traces of makeup in order to maximize light absorption.

03
Exposure to LED light
Before starting the treatment, you must first protect your eyes with safety goggles. The therapist will then position you under the LED panel, at an optimal distance from your face.
The session can last between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the problem being treated.

04
End of the LED session and application of a soothing treatment
After exposure to the LED light, the therapist will apply a soothing treatment for added hydration, followed by essential sunscreen to protect the skin from UV rays.
The final step is to apply a hydrating serum, repair mask or LED to speed up recovery.
